The singer herself shared the backstory in her own words on her YouTube channel, and it’s the kind of real, unscripted love story that fans immediately connected with. She revealed that Choi Ji Hoon wasn’t her type at first, but when she spontaneously invited him to join her group of friends the night before their official blind date — a bold ask by any standard — he showed up without hesitation. He walked in smiling, held eye contact without looking away, and that confidence is what charmed her into giving him a chance.

Sometimes the right person earns your attention not by being perfect on paper, but simply by showing up fully and without pretence.

A Second Chance at Love

Seo In Young was previously married to a non-celebrity entrepreneur in February 2023, but after just one year of marriage, the couple divorced in 2024. It was a painful chapter that played out in the public eye, but the singer has approached her personal journey with remarkable openness — including sharing this new relationship with her audience before any formal announcement.

Her willingness to love again, and to do so publicly and joyfully, has resonated deeply with her fans who have followed her through the highs and lows of recent years.
