What Is Different This Time?
The first season, which arrived in June 2023, was inspired by true events. According to Wikipedia’s page on the series, it followed a crime journalist caught up in a murder case. Season 2 breaks from that. It is a fully fictional, standalone story with new characters and a mostly new cast, though it keeps the show’s core theme of how the media, crime, power and accountability collide.
This is also Netflix India’s first attempt at an anthology-style franchise, where each season stands on its own. Think Delhi Crime, but with an even bigger reset.

Why This Casting Works?
Pratik Gandhi has worked with Mehta before, since the director’s breakout hit Scam 1992. His Netflix list is growing too, with Saare Jahan Se Accha and the upcoming Hum Hindustani.
