SC East Bengal sign new defensive duo

After a shocking start in Indian Super League with 3 points from the first 7 games, SC East Bengal is back in business to seal the deals to make the team better. SC East Bengal is in talks with some highly talented players.

On New Year’s Day, SC East Bengal signed a defensive duo along with Bright Enobakhare. Raju Gaikwad and Ankit Mukherjee had officially signed for SC East Bengal.

30-year-old Raju Gaikwad preferred to play in the center back and right full-back position and known for his long throw-ins. He made his debut for SC East Bengal against Odisha FC today and SC East Bengal used his long throw-ins pretty well.

Raju was a part of East Bengal from 2011 to 2015. After reuniting with his old team he said, “I am delighted to reunite with SC East Bengal, a club I played for in the past. We all know how big a club it is and I am eager to contribute to the team’s success. The season is underway and I am raring to go.”

On the other hand, Ankit Mukherjee was a part of SC East Bengal’s youth academy. In 2015 he joined Aryan Football Club. On his return to his former club, he said, “It is always a great opportunity to play for SC East Bengal and I am thrilled to be back to where it all started. I can’t wait to learn from someone like Robbie Fowler and I consider myself extremely fortunate to get this chance.”

After getting their first win in ISL, East Bengal will hope to continue their form and stage a late comeback.
