Dani Carvajal’s next chapter is almost confirmed. Getafe have reached a verbal agreement to sign the former Real Madrid captain, according to Fabrizio Romano. The deal is at the “here we go” stage and only needs La Liga’s approval under its financial control limits.
Medical Done, Approval Pending
Dani Carvajal has already completed his medical tests. Getafe president Ángel Torres confirmed it publicly: the player has passed his medical and the two parties have an agreement. “All that remains now is for La Liga and the club to reach an agreement,” he added. Spanish outlet ABC first reported Carvajal had said yes to the move.

Why Getafe?
Carvajal’s contract with Real Madrid expired on June 30, ending more than a decade in the first team. He reportedly trained alone through the summer while waiting for an offer that suited him, and he had interest from clubs outside Spain. Getafe coach José Bordalás pushed for the signing to add experience and competitive spirit to a squad playing in La Liga, the Copa del Rey and Europe.
The Salary Challenge
Getafe have very limited wage capacity, so Carvajal will not be able to match his Real Madrid salary. That is why La Liga’s sign-off is the final step.
Why It Matters
Carvajal is a six-time Champions League winner, and his arrival would be one of the headline moves of the market for Getafe. His injury history is a concern at 34, but his leadership could help a squad dealing with injuries and recent defeats. Once La Liga gives the green light, Getafe are ready to announce the signing.
