The Plot: A Bioweapon and a Race Against Time

Directed by PS Mithran, the sequel to 2022’s Sardar centers on “Operation Doku,” a dangerous bioweapon that India once contained — until antagonist Black Dagger, played by SJ Suryah, brings it back into play. Set partly in the 1980s, the film opens with promise: tight spy-thriller mechanics, Mission: Impossible-style set pieces, and a genuinely compelling flashback explaining the weapon’s origins.

Where It Loses Steam

Nearly every review points to the same issue: a strong first half that unravels post-interval. Reviewers cite over-the-top action sequences, a bloated runtime, and a social message about antibiotic misuse that doesn’t land with the intended punch. Sam C.S.’s background score and the interval block earn consistent praise, but several critics feel the ambition outpaces the execution.

Verdict
