Samsung One UI 6.1 update brings Galaxy AI to these devices

Samsung Electronics is further democratizing mobile AI with its latest One UI 6.1 update, bringing Galaxy AI features to a broader range of devices. Starting at the end of March, this update will be available across the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Tab S9 series.

This move aligns with the recently launched Galaxy S24 series, combining on-device and cloud-based AI to enhance users’ mobile AI experience.

Samsung’s goal with Galaxy AI is not merely to usher in a new era of mobile AI, but also to make AI more accessible to users. According to TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Experience Business at Samsung Electronics, this is just the start of Galaxy AI, with plans to extend the experience to over 100 million Galaxy users by 2024.

Communication Beyond Boundaries

The One UI 6.1 update brings Galaxy AI’s communication-enhancing features to even more AI-supported models. Users can now adjust message tone and translate messages in 13 different languages using Chat Assist. Live Translate provides voice and text translations for phone calls, enabling real-time interactions. The Interpreter feature allows users to engage in spontaneous conversations while travelling, generating text translations for live conversations on a split screen.

Superior Productivity

The wider integration of Galaxy AI across the Galaxy ecosystem enhances daily tasks on AI-supported models, driving unprecedented efficiency. Circle to Search with Google improves search functions, generating intuitive search results with a swift circle-motioned gesture. Note Assist and Browsing Assist offer life-enhancing organization features, while Transcript Assist can transcribe meeting recordings and generate summaries and translations.

Galaxy AI tools empower individuals to express their creativity freely. The Generative Edit feature allows users to easily resize, reposition, or realign objects in photos. Instant Slow-Mo generates additional frames for slow-motion videos, capturing action-packed moments without the need for multiple re-shots.
