Samsung Electronics is set to hold the first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2025 on January 22 in San Francisco in the U.S., ahead of the highly-anticipated Galaxy S25 series launch. This event will officially reveal the next series of smartphones, including the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with a record possible 16GB of RAM according to South Korean industry media FNnews and ETNews.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Set for January 2025 Unpacked Event, Features 16GB RAM in Ultra Version

The date for the Galaxy Unpacked event had been in contention previously, with some reports pointing toward January 22 as the launch day, while others indicated January 23. According to FNnews, both could be true. The event will be held at 11:00 AM on January 22 in California, which is the equivalent of 3:00 AM on January 23 in Korea. This timing clears up the confusion regarding the event’s schedule. Also, the launch timeframe for the Galaxy S25 series has been revealed.

The smartphones are anticipated to launch between February 4 and 7, 2025, which is later than the January 31 release of the Galaxy S24 series in 2024. This timeline is said to give Samsung more time to prepare and polish the devices before they are available for purchase. ETNews has also revealed specifications regarding RAM configurations of the S25 series. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will come with 16GB of RAM in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage versions.

The same won’t be true for the Galaxy S25 and S25+ as all storage versions will feature 12GB of RAM. Armed with this knowledge, details about the launch timeline and specs of the Galaxy S25 series are starting to emerge. Because it relies upon insider sources, these details should be pretty trustworthy — we are still waiting for officials from Samsung to weigh in, of course.
