Bollywood’s biggest superstar isn’t slowing down — he’s going back in time. After locking in an action-comedy with The Family Man creators Raj and DK, Salman Khan is now reportedly in serious talks with producer Farhan Akhtar for a massive period drama inspired by one of India’s most iconic historical figures. And the best part? It’s being planned as a two-part theatrical spectacle.

Why This Collaboration Is Massive?
Salman and Farhan have never worked together before, which alone makes this a landmark moment for Bollywood. Excel Entertainment, which gave us Dil Chahta Hai, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and Don, has a strong track record of quality big-canvas films. Pair that with Salman’s unmatched mass appeal, and you’ve got a potential blockbuster franchise before a single frame is shot.
Salman currently has a packed pipeline — he’s finishing Vamshi Paidipally’s action entertainer and is set to begin the Raj & DK superhero comedy by October 2026. For more on Salman’s upcoming slate, check out our detailed coverage at Technosports.
What’s Next?
More clarity on the film’s direction and historical subject is expected by end of 2026. If deals are finalized, this could become the biggest Indian period film in years — and a franchise starter for both Excel Entertainment and Bhai’s legacy.
