Salman Khan on Ranveer vs Ranbir

Put one Khan on the couch, ask him to pick between two of Bollywood’s most explosive performances, and you get internet gold. That’s exactly what happened on the season premiere of Koffee With Karan 9.

Koffee With Karan 9: The Rapid Fire Moment

Salman Khan opened the ninth season of Koffee With Karan. Karisma Kapoor later joined him on the couch and ran the popular Rapid Fire round for Salman and host Karan Johar.

Her question was a tricky one: whose performance was more impactful, Ranbir Kapoor in Animal or Ranveer Singh in Dhurandhar?

Salman answered right away: these are two different kinds of performances, and you can’t compare them. Karisma teased him for being “diplomatic,” but he pushed back. He said it wasn’t diplomacy at all, because both actors are fantastic. In his words, one brings tremendous energy and the other brings tremendous intensity.

Koffee With Karan 9: Overview

Detail	Info
Show	Koffee With Karan Season 9
Guest	Salman Khan (first episode)

Why He Called Ranveer “Secure”?

The most interesting part wasn’t the diplomatic answer. It was Salman’s praise for Ranveer. He explained that Ranveer is known for doing everything in a larger-than-life way, and Dhurandhar demanded the opposite: he had to rein in all that energy.

For an actor, Salman said, holding back that much can feel risky and insecure. Ranveer, he felt, showed no such insecurity and stayed secure in the role throughout. It’s a thoughtful compliment, and it shows how much craft goes into restraint.

Both Animal and Dhurandhar gave their lead actors career-defining performances, and fans have been debating who did better ever since. Salman’s answer won’t settle the argument, but it shifts the conversation. Rather than a rivalry, he framed it as two actors excelling in two different styles.

What’s Next for the Actors?

Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in Ramayana Part One, followed by Love And War. Ranveer Singh is busy with his next release, Pralay, which is still in production. Both projects will be closely watched at the box office.

Conclusion

Salman’s answer was graceful, and his comments on Ranveer’s restraint were the real highlight. If the season premiere is any sign, Koffee With Karan 9 is off to a lively start. Bookmark TechnoSports for more episode highlights.
