Ronald Araujo ends transfer speculation with new Barcelona contract until 2026

Ronald Araujo has extended his contract with Barcelona, as officially announced by the club on their website. This will come as a huge boost for the team, since he has been their best defender this season. His last contract expired in 2023, and Barcelona fans will be relieved now that he is committed to the project at the club for the foreseeable future.

The La Masia graduate has extended his deal until June 2026, with a release clause worth €1 billion added into his contract. This means that it would be practically impossible for any club in the world to buy out his contract if they want to sign him.

Ronald Araujo agrees new deal with Barcelona

“He has proved himself to be the present and future for Barca, becoming an integral part of the Blaugrana defence,” the club said in a statement.

“His talents in defence and scoring goals mean he is a key player for years to come as his tally of four goals this season proves.”

The signing of the contract will take place on Friday, where Ronald Araujo will be putting pen to paper. He will also be speaking on the new deal, alongside club president Joan Laporta.

Barcelona are also in the process of securing a new deal for Gavi, who has been brilliant since being integrated into the first team. They are expected to include the €1 billion buyout clause in his new contract as well.
