Roblox is making a serious push to grow up — literally. The platform has announced two new creator programs, Roblox Incubator and Roblox Jumpstart, specifically designed to fund and mentor developers building the next wave of high-fidelity games targeting an older, more demanding audience.

Roblox Creator Programs: What’s the Difference?
| Program | Who It’s For | Duration | Key Support |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roblox Incubator | Experienced teams with strong concepts | 6 months, milestone-driven | Mentorship, audience building, commercial scaling |
| Roblox Jumpstart | New creators or experienced devs exploring novel games | Continuous, rolling | Expert access, on- and off-platform user acquisition |
Applications for both programs are open now at create.roblox.com/build. Jumpstart pitches kicked off in person at GDC 2026 and continue on a rolling basis.
Why Roblox Is Doing This Now
The numbers tell the story. As of January 2026, 45% of Roblox’s daily active users have completed age verification — and 27% of that group are over 18. In the US alone, the 18–34 cohort is growing at over 50%, more than double the rate of the under-18 base, and monetises 40% higher. That’s a growth driver too significant to leave on the table.
The problem is that most classic Roblox games weren’t built for this audience. The new programs are designed to change that by backing creators who want to build RPGs, strategy games, and shooters with expanded gameplay mechanics and a visual quality that older players actually expect.

To support this, Roblox is also rolling out new developer tools including SLIM (Scalable Lightweight Interactive Models), Texture Streaming, and server authority — all aimed at helping developers build visually rich worlds that scale across devices without compromising performance.
“We are calling on ambitious creators with bold ideas to build the next generation of experiences.” — Vlad Loktev, Chief Creator Ecosystem Officer, Roblox
It’s a clear signal that Roblox is no longer content being seen purely as a kids’ platform. The infrastructure investment and structured creator support suggest this is a long-term repositioning, not just a campaign.
