The film opened at Rs 3.10 crore including previews, grew on Saturday and held steady on Sunday. Note that these are trade estimates, not certified figures.

Good, but It Could Have Been Bigger

Pinkvilla calls it a good weekend, though it notes growth could have been higher given the word of mouth. If the film holds this level on weekdays, it could turn out to be a solid outcome. Hollywood titles are doing well in India this year, and Resident Evil joins that list.

What Is It About?

The story follows Bryan, a medical courier working a snowy winter night. He’s tasked with delivering sensitive cargo to Raccoon City General Hospital when a sudden viral outbreak throws the city into chaos. Now he has to survive long enough to finish the delivery.

It’s set alongside the events of the classic Resident Evil 2 video game, so fans of the Resident Evil franchise should spot plenty of familiar ground.
