Renault Duster 2026 Debuts in India, Pre-Bookings Open at ₹21K

The iconic Renault Duster has returned to India in its third-generation avatar, with pre-bookings now open at ₹21,000 across dealerships and online platforms. Unveiled on January 26, 2026, the completely redesigned SUV brings hybrid powertrains, Level 2 ADAS safety features, and a 7-year warranty while targeting the competitive ₹10-20 lakh mid-size SUV segment.

India-Spec Design With Modern Features

Built on the Renault Group Modular Platform with 90% India-specific elements, the new Duster measures 4,346mm long with a commanding 212mm ground clearance. The SUV features LED headlamps with Y-shaped DRLs, a connected LED tail-light bar exclusive to India, and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in rugged body cladding.

Three Powertrain Options Including Hybrid

Renault confirmed three engine choices: a 1.0-litre TCe 100 turbo-petrol (100PS/160Nm) with 6-speed manual, a 1.3-litre Turbo TCe 160 (163PS/280Nm) with 6-speed manual or DCT, and the range-topping 1.8-litre E-Tech 160 full hybrid (160PS/172Nm) combining petrol with dual electric motors for superior fuel efficiency.

The hybrid system addresses rising fuel costs while maintaining performance, potentially delivering 20+ km/l efficiency. All powertrains support multiple drive modes including Eco, Comfort, and Perso for personalized driving dynamics.

First-in-Class Technology and Safety

The cabin features dual 10.1-inch screens—a touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in (the first mass-market vehicle in India with this integration) and a digital instrument cluster. Over 60 connected car functions enable remote control, while Google Maps, voice assistance, and Play Store apps enhance usability.

Safety includes six airbags as standard, electronic stability control, 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and India’s first Renault with Level 2 ADAS featuring adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance.

Industry-Leading Warranty Program

The Duster offers up to 7 years or 150,000km warranty through Renault’s Forever programme—one of the longest in the segment. Early bookers receive priority delivery, exclusive merchandise, and special introductory pricing when announced in March 2026.

Premium features include ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control with PM2.5 air filtration, panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery with contrast stitching, wireless charging, and powered tailgate—positioning it competitively against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Tata Sierra.

The Mountain Jade green exterior shade and dual-tone options add visual appeal, while the 26.9° approach and 34.7° departure angles enable light off-road capability beyond typical urban SUVs.

For those interested in Renault’s SUV lineup, the Duster represents a strategic comeback. Indian buyers can explore detailed specifications and booking details to understand how this legendary nameplate adapts to modern demands.
