Realme GT 5G is confirmed to be the most affordable 5G smartphone with Snapdragon 888 in India

Realme is all set to launch its latest smartphones, the Realme GT 5G and the Realme GT Master Edition in India tomorrow. Of the two, the Realme GT is expected to be the more powerful one as it will come with a Snapdragon 888 SoC underneath the hood. Ahead of the launch, there have been a few hints already about the pricing of the two phones.

A new tweet by Realme’s CEO, Madhav Sheth, hints that the company could be all set to launch the Realme GT at a price point that will make it the most affordable Snapdragon 888 phone in India. Currently, that title is held by the Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro, which is priced at Rs 29,990.

The Snapdragon 888 is manufactured using the currently benchmarked 5nm process and is an octa-core chipset with an integrated 5G modem. The 8 core / 8 thread processor is clocked at 2.8GHz and comes with the Adreno 660 GPU. The Spectra 580 ISP lends the chipset tremendous audio-visual processing abilities. The chipset is also capable of running high-speed networks like 5G, Wi-Fi 6E and NFC.

Realme GT 5G and Master Edition Specs

The Realme GT 5G and the GT Master Edition sport a 6.43-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display. It has a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the GT 5G is powered by Snapdragon 888 processor paired with 12GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. The Snapdragon 778G SoC powers the GT Master Edition with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage.

The Realme GT 5G packs a 5000mAh battery with 125W fast charging that offers 100% charge in 35 minutes. The Master Edition comes with a 4300mAh battery with 65W fast charging. For security, there is an in-screen fingerprint sensor on both of them. The smartphones run Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 on the software front.
