Real Madrid’s 3 options to replace Carlo Ancelotti at the end of the season

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has come under fire in recent weeks for the lack of results. Things took a turn for the worse in their most recent game, as they suffered another defeat in El Clasico. This time, they bottled a 1-0 lead as the Catalonian side managed to win 2-1

Ancelotti’s deal runs out at the end of the current season. And in spite of winning the league and the Champions League last year, he could still be relieved of his duties in a few months. As things stand, the board is looking at three possible candidates to take over.

Former Real Madrid players Xabi Alonso and Raul are two managers that have been linked with the job. While Raul has been in charge of the Castilla team since 2020, he hasn’t made the step up to the first team yet. However, he has been linked with the job multiple times before.

On the other hand, Xabi Alonso has been managing Bayer Leverkusen in Germany. And his side recently got the better of Bayern Munich, climbing up to eighth place in the Bundesliga table.

However, both of the club icons have not had a ton of experience at the top level. And given that Florentino Perez wants trophies every season, a proven winner is what they are really looking for.

Which is where the third choice, Thomas Tuchel, comes in. The German tactician has been out of a job since being dismissed from Chelsea at the start of the season. And he is one of the most decorated options that Los Blancos can go after right now.
