She spoke about feeling proud to be part of MS Amma’s extraordinary journey and promised complete dedication to portraying her with the respect the role demands.

Kamal Haasan’s Tribute at the Launch

Kamal Haasan didn’t hold back his admiration during the launch, describing MS Subbulakshmi as the musical empress who united South India through her voice, having sung fluently across Sanskrit, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and more. He credited her music as a major source of personal inspiration, citing her renditions of Suprabhatam and Lalitha Sahasranamam, and even noted that Mahatma Gandhi himself was an admirer of her work.

He also praised the film’s creative team, expressing confidence that composer Anirudh Ravichander’s musical journey would reach new heights through this project, and admitted with characteristic humility that no one — not even himself — could portray MS Amma quite the way she deserves.
