Filming Just Wrapped — But Don’t Hold Your Breath for 2026

Ransom Canyon Season 2 wrapped its final day of production on January 14, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico — Netflix’s go-to production hub for the show. Cast members Garrett Wareing and Lizzy Greene confirmed they were in their final stretch on social media, and several crew members posted celebratory wrap photos shortly after.

The timing, though, tells an important story. Netflix’s forward-looking announcement for 2026 covered over 160 confirmed titles — and Ransom Canyon was notably absent. That’s a strong signal the show won’t drop until at least 2027, though one cast member recently hinted to The Direct that a Summer release window could still be on the cards. So a late 2027 premiere seems the most realistic expectation right now.

Big Cast Changes Coming in Season 2

Season 2 isn’t just a continuation — it’s a shake-up. Series regulars Eoin Macken and Andrew Liner are departing, making way for exciting new additions including Steve Howey, Ben Robson, Heidi Engerman, and Patricia Clarkson.

The returning core cast still includes fan favourites Josh Duhamel, Minka Kelly, Lizzy Greene, Garrett Wareing, Marianly Tejada, Jack Schumacher, Philip Winchester, Casey W. Johnson, and Takanka Means.

Fewer Episodes, Bigger Stakes?

Netflix has trimmed the episode count from 10 to 8 episodes for Season 2. Whether that means tighter storytelling or just budget management remains to be seen — but shows like Stranger Things and Bridgerton have proven that fewer episodes can sometimes mean more punch per episode.
