Even superstars get nostalgic. At the Jailer 2 Super Show, Rajinikanth shared two stories: one about a song he wishes the film had, and one about the job he never quite left behind. Together they show why fans love him.
For his career background, see Rajinikanth on Wikipedia.

The “Missing Element”: Tamannaah
Rajinikanth said the one thing missing from the sequel is Tamannaah, whose hit song “Kaavaalaa” was a highlight of the first film. He had asked Nelson to keep a song for her. In his words: “The only missing element in Jailer 2 is Tamannaah.”
Nelson reportedly replied that he couldn’t add it just because the superstar liked the idea. Rajinikanth joked back that liking something isn’t his guide, and that he stays relevant by doing what audiences enjoy rather than what he personally prefers.
Still a Bus Conductor at Heart
The more heartfelt moment came when he looked back at his life before cinema.
| Topic | What He Shared |
|---|---|
| Past career | Five years as a bus conductor in Bengaluru |
| His feeling now | He still misses the job |
| Visiting Bengaluru | The city brings back memories, and seeing a bus makes him happy |
| On stardom | He said he has never truly felt like a big superstar |
He added that bus conductors stay humble in front of big personalities, and that a part of him will always identify as one. For a man who is arguably South India’s biggest star, it’s a remarkably grounded thing to say.

| Reason | Why It Works |
