Raj Kundra’s Surprising Stand-Up Comedy Debut: ‘Sahi Khel Gaya’ Say Netizens

Raj Kundra, best known as the spouse of Bollywood luminary Shilpa Shetty, has embarked on an unexpected career path, transitioning from being the subject of biographical headlines to a newfound prominence as a stand-up comedian. In a live performance that turned heads, he lightheartedly christened himself the ‘discount Kanye West,’ revealing a hitherto unseen facet of his personality.

More about the Raj Kundra Controversy

Since Raj became embroiled in a contentious pornography case, he has adopted a conspicuous style, frequently appearing in public donning meticulously crafted masks. Even during the spirited Ganpati celebrations, he adhered to his masked persona, earning him the sobriquet “the maskman.” In his recent stand-up gig, he continued to shroud his face in a mask, and in a brief clip shared on Instagram, he initiated proceedings by playfully lampooning himself, christening himself ‘Sasta Kanye West‘ and humorously referencing his role as ‘Shilpa ka pati’ (Shilpa’s husband).

In a daring move, Raj extended an open invitation to the audience to step out for a ten-minute respite if they found his risqué humor uncomfortable. Astonishingly, not a single person vacated the premises, leading him to endearingly tag his audience as ”tharki” (a colloquial term for someone with amorous inclinations). He then embarked on a narrative of his life journey, tracing his roots back to his humble beginnings as a taxi driver at the tender age of 18, ultimately scaling the heights of success in the Pashmina shawl industry by the age of 21.

As the curtain descended on his performance, Raj delivered a whimsical remark, declaring, ”Mera Kaam hamesha se kapde chadhane ka tha, utarne ka nahi,” (My job was always about putting on clothes, not taking them off). This was followed by the appearance of ‘The Boyz’ on the screen, accompanied by the strains of “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons, providing a memorable conclusion to his act.

Just a few days prior, Raj shared a video compilation showcasing him adorned in various masks from his public appearances spanning the past two years, alluding to an intriguing narrative behind his metamorphosis into the enigmatic ‘Maskman.’ Curiously, a biographical film chronicling Raj’s life is currently in development, with reports suggesting that he will make his debut as an actor in the movie, introducing yet another fascinating dimension to his ever-evolving career trajectory.
