AMD Radeon RX 6750 GRE GPU offers RTX 4060 Ti like performance at a cheaper price

AMD is expected to produce a new RDNA 2 GPU called the Radeon RX 6750 GRE to compete with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card. The information comes from Bilibili user and tech blogger, (via ITHome), who claims that AMD is working on a new graphics card that will utilise the older RDNA 2 architecture. The Radeon RX 6750 GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) graphics card is the second GRE variation to be released this year, following the Radeon RX 7900 GRE.

According to reports, the AMD Radeon RX 6750 GRE GPUs will be mostly manufactured by one AIB, Yeston.

Yeston is primarily an Asian-Pacific brand with little exposure in the US and EU markets, but as we saw with the RX 7900 GRE, the card was available in the worldwide retail segment, albeit through OEM and System Integrators. As a result, we may see a similar occurrence on this card as well.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Radeon RX 6700 GPUs repurposed to compete with NVIDIA’s RTX 4060 Ti. Sapphire also released a new edition of the 6750 XT a few months ago that competes with the RTX 4060 Ti.

Although no specifications have been released, the 6750 GRE is claimed to be an enhanced version of the RX 6750 XT. The basic configurations of the Radeon RX 6750 XT and RX 6700 XT are similar, with the main variation being the clock speeds. Meanwhile, the RX 7900 GRE had a lower spec than its XT and XTX brethren.

In terms of performance, the Radeon RX 6750 GRE is expected to compete with the NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti, which has yet to see significant RDNA 3 competition from the red side. The graphics card is also expected to be priced similarly to the RTX 4060, which has an MSRP of $299 USD.

So $299 US for the performance of a $399 US graphics card sounds reasonable, but while the GRE may have an advantage in rasterization and greater memory capacity, the NVIDIA GPUs still offer a superior ray tracing package, considerably higher efficiency, and the most recent game features.
