Augmented Reality or AR in short is one of the most common words nowadays and it will be used more frequently in the coming days as Metaverse is in the works. Qualcomm, as one of the biggest chipmakers, needs to put its impact in this field. So, last Friday it reveals its own Wireless AR Glasses which are powered by its own next-gen chip inside. Snapdragon XR2 Platform is the processor fitted into the slim and smaller AR Glass.

As per the company, the AR reference design hardware has a 40% thinner profile which helps for balanced weight distribution and further helps better comfort for longer usage. It is developed by an acoustic component company GoerTek. The design also allows a wireless split processing architecture that distributes the computing loads between the glass and the smartphone.

This new AR Glass packs dual micro-OLED binocular displays with the support of 90Hz frame rates, and non-motion-blur feature.

Furthermore, the AR Glass has dual monochrome cameras, and one RGB camera on the smart viewer to enable six-degrees of freedom head tracking along with hand tracking with gesture recognition. For connectivity, there is both WiFi 6/6E and Bluetooth.
