Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus launched with improved CPU & GPU performance

Qualcomm recently announced their new Snapdragon 855+ platform publicly. Already the 7nm based chip was pretty impressive with its great performance.

Now to further enhance it and make it worth using for the whole year, Qualcomm has just tweaked its best SoC. With enhanced CPU and GPU performance along with extra improvements, this chip will be worth using on high-end flagships and gaming smartphones.

The tri-cluster design of the eight-core Kryo 485 CPU on the Snapdragon 855 Plus has seen a tweak in the clock speed – now up to 2.96GHz which was only 2.84GHz previously.

The Adreno 460 GPU has been tweaked further to give up to 15% better gaming performance. So the next-gen gaming smartphones will be a lot more powerful than before.

By default, the chip will be accompanied with Snapdragon X24 modem that supports faster LTE speeds and has support for Snapdragon X50 modem for 5G connectivity which will truly help people and mobile gamers for future.

Qualcomm even claims that this new chip coming with 4th-gen AI engine will be capable of performing more than 7 trillion operations per second. The manufacturer promises to provide true HDR gaming experience with premium audio support.

This is an SoC purely made for improved smartphone gaming experience as we see the industry shifting more to mobile gaming.

It is also rumoured that the upcoming ASUS ROG Phone 2 will be using this chip to draw more attention to all enthusiastic mobile gamers. Also being 5G compatible, smartphone manufacturers can develop future 5G gaming smartphones that will raise the bar for gamers.
