According to a fresh report from Sensor Tower, PUBG mobile, the popular battle royale title was the top-grossing mobile game worldwide for August 2020. With an increased spike of 25.5% over last year, it earned more than $221 million in August alone.

Although around 59% of these total revenues have come from the Chinese version of PUBG Mobile, called Game for Peace. The United States was ranked second in revenue with 9.5 percent coming from the country while Japan was third with 5.2 percent.

Tencent’s ‘Honor of Kings’ is the second highest-earning mobile game worldwide with over $204.8 million in gross revenue over the last month. According to reports, it is said that the overall revenue generated by PUBG mobile is over $3.5 billion since its launch. Though PUBG mobile is banned in India on September 2, the revenue of the game only took a slight hit. As the Sensor Tower estimates that just 1.2% of the total revenue comes from India. PUBG mobile is widely popular among Indians and the reports from Sensor Tower suggest that 185.5 million installs were made of the game in India. But still, the in-game purchase made is very low in India with respect to other regions.

The recent news stated that PUBG had broken its ties from Tencent after the game getting banned in India due to its Chinese linkups, but still, there is a doubt of its return as the Indian Ministry said the ban was not only for the connections with Tencent. Let’s see what is waiting for us in the coming days.
