Every so often, a small film sneaks into theatres, waits quietly, and then explodes. Premada Oorali is that film. This Kannada romantic comedy drama started slow, but word of mouth is doing the heavy lifting now, and the numbers are hard to ignore.
Premada Oorali Box Office Collection: Overview
On its second Saturday (Day 16), the film earned Rs 7.25 crore, its biggest single day so far. The total now stands at Rs 45.25 crore gross, with Rs 44.75 crore coming from Karnataka alone. It is expected to cross the Rs 50 crore mark by the end of today, according to Pinkvilla’s box office report.
| Period | Gross (India) |
|---|---|
| Week 1 | Rs 6.00 cr |
| Week 2 | Rs 27.00 cr |
| Day 15 (3rd Friday) | Rs 5.00 cr |
| Day 16 (3rd Saturday) | Rs 7.25 cr |
| Total | Rs 45.25 cr |
Look at that jump: Week 1 earned Rs 6 crore, and Week 2 collected more than four times that. Few films manage a climb like this.
Why Is Everyone Talking About It?
Here’s the interesting part. Recent sleeper hits like Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahayaate and Hanuman Ansh had devotional themes. Premada Oorali is a regular romantic comedy, which makes its rise even more special. It proves that a warm, relatable story can still pull families back to cinemas without big-budget spectacle.
The cast helps too, with Rangayana Raghu, Shree Raam, Tapaswini Poonaccha and Ramika Shivu bringing real charm to the screen.
What Happens Next?
Trade estimates suggest the film could close its second weekend near Rs 20 crore, thanks to another expected jump on Sunday. If the momentum holds, analysts believe it has the potential to cross Rs 100 crore gross in its full run. That would be a landmark moment for regional cinema, much like the success story of Kannada cinema over the years.
Note: Box office figures are trade estimates, not certified collections, and may change.
