A film that opened under ₹10 lakh and is now close to ₹30 crore? That’s the kind of box office story that gets everyone talking. Premada Oorali, the Kannada emotional family drama, collected ₹3.75 crore on its second Wednesday (Day 13), pushing its total gross to ₹28.25 crore.

A Remarkably Steady Run
The most striking part is how well the film has held. Wednesday’s collection was only a nominal dip from Tuesday. The second week has already added ₹22.25 crore in six days, far more than the entire first week’s ₹6 crore. That kind of growth is rare and usually signals strong word of mouth.
What’s Next?
Trade estimates suggest the film will close its second week at around ₹25 crore, taking the two-week total to roughly ₹30 to 32 crore. It’s too early to say where the run will finally end, but the momentum is clearly on its side. The report also points to Hanuman Ansh, which crossed ₹300 crore nett, as another recent example of films building huge numbers through audience support.
Why It’s Working?
Emotional family dramas travel by recommendation, and this one appears to be doing just that. The film features veteran Rangayana Raghu alongside Shree Raam, Tapaswini Poonaccha and Ramika Shivu. A small opening followed by steady growth suggests audiences are telling each other to watch it. For Kannada cinema, it’s a heartening example of content winning over star power.
