One of the biggest premium cable crime dramas of the 2010s is finally making its way to Netflix. Courtney A. Kemp and 50 Cent’s Power franchise has struck a major licensing deal with Lionsgate Television — though what you get depends heavily on where you live.
Power: Overview
| Detail | Information |
|---|---|
| Deal Confirmed By | Netflix & Lionsgate Television |
| Arrival Date | November 2026 |
| US Gets | Power (original series only) |
| International Gets | Power + 3 spin-offs |
| Excluded Region | Canada |
| Previous US Home | Hulu (since 2017) |
What’s Coming to Netflix US
US subscribers will get the flagship series, Power, which follows James “Ghost” St. Patrick, a New York drug kingpin trying to leave the criminal underworld behind to run a legitimate nightclub business. All six seasons (63 episodes) will move over from Hulu, where the show has streamed since 2017. Only the original series is included for US viewers — the spin-offs remain exclusive to Starz domestically.
What’s Coming Internationally
Outside the US, the deal is far more expansive. International subscribers will get non-exclusive rights to:
- Power (all 6 seasons)
- Power Book II: Ghost (all 4 seasons)
- Power Book III: Raising Kanan (all 5 seasons)
- Power Book IV: Force (all 3 seasons)
Newer offshoots like Power: Origins and Power: Legacy aren’t part of this deal. Canada is notably excluded, as the franchise remains tied to Starz there through Bell Media.
A Full-Circle Moment
Interestingly, Power isn’t entirely new to Netflix — it streamed as a Netflix Original in the UK for years, complete with next-day episode drops, before rights expired and the show left Netflix UK in August 2023 as Starz built out its own international footprint. Following Lionsgate’s 2025 split from Starz, the franchise is now heading back to Netflix in a much bigger capacity.
Building on an Existing Relationship
This deal builds on Netflix’s ongoing partnership with creator Courtney A. Kemp, who signed an overall deal with the streamer in 2021 and went on to create the hit series Nemesis. Kemp recently stepped down as showrunner for Nemesis Season 2, though the show has already been renewed and remains on track.
