What’s the Story So Far?

Pokémon Horizons marked a bold new era for the franchise when it replaced the legendary Ash Ketchum with two fresh protagonists — Liko and Roy. Season 1 introduced them as members of the Rising Volt Tacklers crew, while Season 2 had them honing their Pokémon training skills and deepening their bonds with their Pokémon partners.

Season 3 picks up one year later, with Liko and Roy stepping up to re-establish the now leaderless Rising Volt Tacklers. The stakes feel bigger, the adventures feel bolder, and the new characters add real energy to the group dynamic.

What to Expect in Part 2 — Highlights

The 13-episode Part 2 is shaping up to be the most action-packed stretch of Horizons yet. Here’s what’s coming:

New rivals and allies — Roy’s yellow Lucario joins the team, alongside Dot (an expert intel gatherer) and Ult, who declares himself Roy’s rival from the get-go. Expect sparks.

Mega Evolution trilogy — The final three episodes are dedicated entirely to Mega Evolution storylines centred on Roy, Ult, and the bonds between Pokémon and their trainers. Episodes 23, 24, and 25 — titled Mega Evolution – Roy, Mega Evolution – Ult, and Mega Evolution – Bonds — are set to be the emotional high points of the whole season.

Six Heroes Unleashed — Episode 21 brings what sounds like a major franchise-scale event that long-time Pokémon lore fans will want to watch closely.
