What Is Perusu About?
Perusu tells the story of Halasayam, a father of two grown sons — Sami (played by Sunil) and Durai (played by Vaibhav). He suddenly dies while watching TV, but before the family can grieve, they uncover a shocking secret: he suffered from Angel’s Lust. Now the family must hide this embarrassing truth from the entire village while managing his funeral arrangements.
To make things worse, a young boy who had a grudge against Halasayam sees the death as an opportunity for revenge. The chaos that follows is pure comedy gold. Despite its adult theme, Perusu keeps its humor situational and smart — not crude.

Why You Should Watch Perusu on Netflix
Director Ilango Ram (who also co-wrote the film with Balaji Jayaraman) has crafted a refreshingly original comedy rooted in village culture and family dynamics. The film received a positive response from audiences upon its theatrical run and is considered one of the more daring Tamil comedies of 2025 for tackling a taboo subject with wit and warmth.
Music by Arun Raj complements the quirky tone, while Sathya Thilakam’s cinematography beautifully captures the rustic setting.
