Percy Jackson and the Olympians star Walker Scobell has announced he will skip his high school prom after obsessive fans sent death threats to multiple teenage girls who could potentially be his date. Variety
The 17-year-old took to his Instagram Story on April 12 to address the situation directly, writing: “Just to let everyone know, I will not be attending prom. Please stop sending death threats to EVERY teenage girl who could remotely be associated with me based on their proximity to where I live.” E! News
He added: “It’s not fair to them or their families. Maybe also just stop sending death threats in general. That’s just not cool. Kinda weird I have to say this.

The Bigger Picture
This isn’t an isolated incident for the cast. Co-star Aryan Simhadri previously shared an uncomfortable encounter involving a group of fans who recognized him in public, leaving him visibly distressed. The Hollywood Reporter
While the show has been hugely successful — adapting Rick Riordan’s beloved novels about a teenage demigod navigating a world full of mythological monsters — this toxic fan behaviour is casting a dark shadow over its young stars. Dexerto
This is a textbook case of parasocial relationships spiraling dangerously out of control, where fans confuse fictional loyalty with real-world entitlement.
Fan Reaction
The genuine fanbase was quick to respond with support. Many took to comments urging followers: “Walker, we support you! Real fans will make sure you and the whole cast stay safe.”
