A beta version of the new Mac app, which includes native Apple hardware support, is now accessible to all WhatsApp users who wish to test it out. WhatsApp has been working on this update since the summer. The updated macOS version of WhatsApp is now readily accessible for download on the company’s website, according to WABetaInfo.

Prior to its official release, the company had previously only made the beta available to a select group of users. Because this is still in beta testing, certain features may not be operating as anticipated.

Previously, the messaging service provided a web-wrapped version of its web application as a macOS client, but a new version is a native software that uses system resources more effectively. The three-panel layout has also been modified, making it simpler to access calls, starred messages, and archived chats. The new software is currently still in beta even though it is now widely accessible.

According to WABetaInfo, the new Mac software was created using Catalyst, Apple’s cross-platform development framework that is most frequently mentioned as a means of quickly porting iPad apps to the Mac. However, Meta has yet to openly announce or release the official WhatsApp iPad app, despite years of rumors to the contrary.

Hopefully, the introduction of the new Catalyst-based macOS application is an indication that an iPad app is still possible. Rosetta 2 allows users of Apple silicon Macs to access WhatsApp for Mac’s Electron-based Intel version, although this is the first time a native model has been made generally accessible.

HARMAN takes strict action against the sale of counterfeit and infringed JBL® and Infinity® Products in Bengaluru

HARMAN, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. focused on connected technologies for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets is taking strict legal action against parties involved in the manufacture and sale of fake JBL and Infinity Car Audio products in India. HARMAN is the parent company for leading iconic audio brands including JBL®, AKG®, Harman Kardon®, Infinity®, Lexicon®, MarkLevinson® and Revel®, amongst others.

Recent raids by HARMAN in three markets in Bengaluru have led to the discovery of four Car aftermarket dealers peddling counterfeit JBL and Infinity products. HARMAN’s investigation team and law enforcement officers seized over 500 counterfeits and infringed JBL and Infinity Car Audio products. The team discovered products in two places that were misusing the JBL mark as JBZ and IGL and selling counterfeit goods in packaging that was deceptively similar to that of JBL and Infinity. HARMAN successfully seized those infringed goods and the offenders have been subjected to appropriate legal procedure.

Vikram Kher, Vice President, Lifestyle, HARMAN India said, “Creating superlative customer experiences while maintaining our brand value is of utmost importance to HARMAN. We work diligently to provide customers around the world with iconic audio products of the greatest quality, maintaining our brand commitment to them. We take stern action against any offenders trying to mislead our customers and advise them to purchase HARMAN products from authorized dealers only, while being wary of counterfeit products in the market. HARMAN plans to carry out additional investigations to prevent the production and distribution of counterfeit goods in India.”

In 2022, HARMAN conducted a similar raid along with the law enforcement officers; and seized stocks of spurious JBL and Infinity consumer products, from car accessories shops; and manufacturing units located across Delhi.

Advisory to consumers: Easy ways to identify a counterfeit JBL and Infinity product

1. Like many premium goods, HARMAN’s products are being counterfeited and sold, usually at drastically reduced prices and diminished quality. Genuine JBL and Infinity products are made with high-quality materials and designed to deliver a one-of-a-kind listening experience.

2. The cosmetic details are not consistent with authentic JBL and Infinity products.

3. Inspect the packaging and logo placement/colour. Typically, the packaging is made of flimsy material, missing key details such as certifications, place of manufacture, address, and trademark/copyright information. Logo placement is slightly off and the colour does not match the genuine logo.

4. The package/product may be lightweight, smell of chemicals, or have chipped paint.

5. Research reputation of the seller. Read customer comments.

To identify an authorised seller, always look for authorised retailer/dealer certificate.

Prior to Mac’s resurgence a few years ago, the possibility of Apple producing a machine like the new Mac Mini was a distant dream. The company’s compact desktop was rarely updated and mostly ignored, but things began to improve for the entire Mac portfolio. And it all came to a head when Apple introduced its own processors, first in fast laptops that also set new battery life records, and then in desktops like the redesigned iMac and lightning-fast Mac Studio.

The Mac Mini was released in 2020 as part of Apple’s first wave of silicon products, and it was a powerful performer in a small package.

However, it was a low-effort release with some drawbacks: the M1 Mac Mini only had 16GB of RAM and fewer ports than the Intel-powered model, which Apple continued to sell until the release of this Mac Mini last week. The 2023 Mac Mini retains the same overall design but upgrades numerous specs, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and HDMI and ethernet, depending on how much you spend. It is now powered by either the M2 or M2 Pro chip.

CNET’s Dan Ackerman believes that the $599 base model will be the best choice for the majority of customers, as the M2 Pro variant is a little pricey. If customers want a little more performance, they should go with the more expensive model.

According to Chris Welch’s Verge review, the latest Mac mini is Apple’s best version yet, and while the company stuck with the same design, it properly harnesses the power of the M2 Pro, as well as other notable upgrades such as Wi-Fi 6E. Its extensive I/O, including Thunderbolt 4 ports, is useful when connecting multiple high-resolution monitors.

Alex Wawro wrote for Macworld, claiming that while other options, such as the M1 Ultra Mac Studio or the Intel-based Mac Pro, offer more raw performance, both machines are expensive, making this the ideal upgrade for many.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Specifications

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is touted to be 233g in weight and dimensions 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9mm. Its size is identical to that of the previous S22 Ultra, as one may anticipate. The display is the same size as well, measuring 6.8″ and having a 1,440 x 3,088px resolution (19.3:9 aspect ratio).

AMD announces and then de-announces Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs as Unlocked for Overclocking

It’s worth noting that the note about overclocking has been removed from the official product pages for the upcoming AMD Ryzen 7000X3D with 3D V-Cache. However, several people noticed a specific mention of “Unlocked for Overclocking: Yes,” pointing to the new line of X3D CPUs supporting base overclocking like the entire Ryzen 7000 line-up.

This isn’t the first time this has happened; not long ago, a Valentine’s Day release date of February 14 was listed before being removed, and AMD responded that it was an error. As a result, this could be another typo or error that has since been corrected.

If AMD were to announce that these 3D V-Cache-powered chips have an unlocked design for overclocking, that would be a fantastic addition to the lineup.

The specs’ removal of the overclocking feature also noted AMD’s recommendation that users use auto-tuning options such as Curve Optimizer.

AMD’s Ryzen 7000 X3D CPUs will be available next month, and like the previous Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU, they are expected to be absolute PC gaming beasts. Overclocking support will undoubtedly be a big plus for custom builders, but most users will probably not need to tinker with when it comes to performance.
