Cold, hunger, and betrayal are coming back for round four. Netflix’s brutal survival hit Outlast has been renewed for Season 4, and casting for sixteen new contestants is already underway.

What We Know So Far

Casting calls for the new season have surfaced online, confirming that 16 players will again be split into teams to battle the elements — and each other — for a shot at survival-tested glory and a $1 million prize. Producers are seeking both outdoor enthusiasts and seasoned survival experts, though the filming location and official release date haven’t been announced yet.

Why Outlast Keeps Viewers Hooked

Unlike Survivor, Outlast forces contestants to depend on teammates to win — even as those same people stand between them and the money. Sixteen players start divided into four groups, building camps and scavenging food with minimal supplies, while alliances shift and tempers snap. Anyone can quit by firing a flare, but the winning team splits the full prize.

Season 3 rebranded as Outlast: The Jungle and aired as a separate title, so it’s still unclear whether Season 4 will carry the original name, the “Jungle” branding, or something new entirely. Since filming hasn’t started, a release sometime in the next year looks likely.
