The official synopsis confirms what fans dreaded after Season 4: JJ is dead. The Pogues are stranded, grieving, and completely out of resources following the tragic events in Morocco. They’ve lost the Blue Crown, Chandler Groff is still on the loose, a new threat in the form of Dalia and the Corsairs is closing in, and the Kooks have made sure the crew has no home to return to.

The one wild card? An uneasy alliance with Rafe Cameron — once their biggest enemy — who is now apparently their only lifeline. Notably, Rudy Pankow (JJ’s actor) is absent from the confirmed Season 5 cast list, making the loss official.

We see the group locked in a stone-walled prison cell, hands raised in surrender during an outdoor standoff, and Cleo walking away from a full vehicle explosion like an absolute legend.

There’s heart too — John B and Sarah share a smile in front of the Twinkie, and Pope and Kiara are back exploring dark spaces with flashlights, classic Pogue energy intact even in crisis.
