Oppo A16 powered by Helio G35 chipset launched

Oppo’s latest device, the Oppo A16 has been making the rounds since May. A budget smartphone, the Oppo A16 will release officially in Indonesia first. It will feature an entry-level chipset, a triple-camera setup, and a large battery.

The Oppo A16 will be releasing with a decent plastic build, which is expected in any budget smartphone. The device measures 263.8 x 75.6 x 8.4mm and weighs 190g. Oppo will release the device in Pearl Blue, Space Silver, and Crystal Black variants.

The Oppo A16 will come with a 6.52″ LCD panel with a resolution of 720 x 1600p(HD+), 269 PPI, and a refresh rate of 60Hz. It will also have a touch sampling rate of 60Hz.

The screen has a 71% NTSC color gamut, a brightness of 480 nits, and an 88.7% screen-to-body ratio, and a dewdrop notch.

The Oppo A16 will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G35 SoC along with a 3GB LPDDR4x RAM and 32GB storage. It will also have a massive 5,000mAh battery with support for standard 10W charging. It will run on Android 11 based ColorOS 11.1.

The A16 will feature a triple-camera setup with a 13MP primary camera sensor, a 2MP monochrome sensor, and a 2MP macro snapper. It will have an 8MP selfie shooter.

The device support dual-sim 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, a Type-C USB port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It will also have the provision for a MicroSD card to expand the storage of the device and will have some sensors such as an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, proximity sensor, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Oppo A16 will be priced at $138(10,296 INR) in Indonesia. Oppo has not yet announced the launch of the device in other markets yet but it may rebrand the A16 and launch it as the Oppo A37 in some regions. The device despite its price has a premium look to it and does come with good specs for its price.
