Onew and Yuju’s “Mind Games” Arrives September 29: Release Date, Preview and Chakgak Rollout

Two beloved K-pop voices are finally sharing a track. SHINee’s Onew and GFRIEND’s Yuju dropped a sneak peek of their collaboration “Mind Games” on September 27, and fans are already counting down the hours. The song is one of three title tracks from Onew’s first solo single album, Chakgak.

Onew is one of the founding members of SHINee, known for a warm, emotive vocal tone that has carried the group for years. Pairing him with Yuju, whose GFRIEND sound built its own devoted fanbase, feels like a match made for a ballad-loving playlist.

Why This Rollout Feels Different?

Instead of one big drop, Onew is unveiling his solo debut single album in three stages. That gives every title track its own moment, and it keeps fans talking for almost a month. The collaboration comes first, which sets an intriguing tone: a duet that hints at emotional push-and-pull, if the title is any clue.

If you’d like to catch up before the release, Onew’s acting side is worth a watch too. He appeared in the drama Descendants of the Sun, which is available on Viki.

Quick Tip for Fans

Set a reminder for September 29 at 6 p.m. KST. If you’re in India, that’s 2:30 p.m. IST, so you can stream it the moment it goes live.
