In the ever-evolving world of wireless earphones, True Wireless Stereo (TWS) models have become a hot commodity. However, the listening experience can vary greatly depending on the brand and model, often improving as you climb the price ladder.

OnePlus is challenging this trend with its latest offering, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro. These budget earbuds are designed to deliver a premium experience, especially for Nord smartphone users. After two weeks of daily use, here’s my comprehensive OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro review:

Design and Comfort

Many TWS earphones tend to mimic the iconic AirPods design, and the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro is no exception. The stem-shaped earbuds and pebble-shaped carry case feel familiar yet stylish. I tested the Starry Black variant, which exudes both elegance and modernity. The uniquely shaped stem also makes accessing touch controls a breeze.

Coming from the Galaxy Buds FE, I appreciated the physical button on the carry case for easy pairing with new devices. Despite being budget-friendly, the build quality is impressive, with a solid hinge that feels durable. Unlike some earbuds that fall out easily, the Buds 3 Pro’s ear tips provide a snug fit, essential for effective active noise cancellation (ANC). Whether walking, jogging, or running, these earbuds stay securely in place, overall, you will love the TWS both in terms of design and comfort.

Connectivity

The OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro excels when paired with a OnePlus smartphone, offering customization without needing additional apps. For other Android devices or iPhones, the HeyMelody app provides further customization options. Featuring the latest Bluetooth 5.4, these earbuds ensure an extended range and stable connection, also you can connect this to multiple devices at once.

During my tests on the Nord 4, the pairing process was seamless, thanks to Google FastPair. Customizing settings was effortless, enhancing the overall experience. Although they lack high-resolution codecs like LDAC or aptX, the performance remained impressive.

Audio

The OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro is tuned to satisfy bass enthusiasts, especially in bass mode. The Serenade mode offers a balanced audio experience, blending clarity and bass. Users can customize the bass level from -10 (no bass) to 10 (extreme bass). Tracks like ‘Animals’ by Maroon 5 and ‘Levitating’ by Dua Lipa showcased the earbuds’ impressive bass range, rivalling even high-end brands.

Although the bass is great, you will not feel any pain in your ears even if you listen to music for long hours. From watching movies to playing games, the Nord Buds 3 Pro gives a great sound experience without any lag or jitter.

Exceptional Noise Cancellation

Many budget earbuds struggle with effective noise cancellation in crowded environments. The OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro shines in this aspect, offering three ANC levels – Mild, Moderate, and Smart. Setting the noise cancellation to Max effectively blocks out ambient noise, making it a standout feature.

The built-in Find My Earbud feature is a lifesaver if you misplace them. Additionally, these earbuds can be paired with two devices simultaneously, a feature typically found in more expensive models. With up to five hours of battery life per charge (with ANC) and an additional 15 hours from the case, they can easily last all day.

Verdict: A Solid Pair of Budget Earbuds

At Rs 3,299, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro offers an array of features, making it a compelling choice compared to pricier alternatives. While these earbuds are excellent for any smartphone user, OnePlus users will particularly benefit from the full range of features.

The OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro stands out as one of the best budget earphones of the year, delivering premium sound and exceptional noise cancellation at an affordable price.
