The ‘electro violet’ colorway adds a touch of luxury to the phone, accentuated by the jewelled appearance of the rear camera array. The metallic frame complements the overall aesthetic, making it a premium-looking device in its category. However, the phone’s slippery nature may warrant the use of a transparent case for added grip and protection.

Display: An Immersive Visual Experience

Featuring a 6.8-inch 1264 x 2780 LTPO4 AMOLED screen, the OnePlus 12R offers a vibrant and responsive display. The variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz ensures a smooth gaming experience without compromising battery life. With a touch response rate of 1000Hz, users can expect exceptional responsiveness and touch accuracy. The screen’s peak HDR brightness of 4500 nits with Dolby Vision support delivers stunning visuals and impactful highlights in HDR content.

Camera: Capturing Moments with Precision

Equipped with a very capable 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor, the OnePlus 12R delivers impressive camera performance with proper optimizations. The primary shooter produces detailed shots, especially in good lighting conditions, thanks to optical image stabilization and pixel binning.

The camera interface offers familiar options for retouching and applying filters, catering to photography enthusiasts. While not the best in its class, the camera’s performance is commendable, offering good color tuning, dynamic range, and versatility in shooting modes. In most cases, whether it’s ultra-wide, zoom, or even at night, the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition gives great and reliable results.

Performance and Software: Powerhouse Performance

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, coupled with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the OnePlus 12R ensures smooth and efficient performance. The chipset delivers impressive single-core scores, particularly in high-performance mode, making it ideal for demanding tasks and gaming. The phone’s software optimization allows for seamless multitasking and responsiveness, enhancing the overall user experience.

With a Geekbench single score of around 2021 points and a multi score of 5438 points, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is one of the fastest out there, giving a smooth gaming experience as well, be it any game. Also, the phone is especially optimized for a smooth Genshin Impact experience and also for playing other games like BGMI or CoD.

I/O & Connectivity: All the latest features are here

Boasting latest WiFi 7 and 5G connectivity, the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition gives the best connectivity experience without any issues. There you have volume rockers at the right-hand side and the power-off button, as well as the distinguishable alert slide on the left-hand side. The Type-C port, SIM tray, and speakers are on the bottom-hand side, and overall, it was a pleasure experience both in terms of connectivity and I/O.

Battery Life: Long-lasting and Fast-charging

With a robust 5500mAh battery, the OnePlus 12R offers ample battery life, easily lasting through two full days of usage. The inclusion of a 100W fast charging capability enables quick top-ups, with reports of the phone reaching full charge in just 26 minutes. While wireless charging is absent, the fast wired charging feature compensates for this omission.
