OnePlus launched the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R smartphones globally on January 23 at 7.30 p.m. in India.

OnePlus 12 launched in India: specifications and pricing

The OnePlus 12, which runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, will be the star product of the company’s launch event. With features including a 4,500 mAh battery, wireless charging, and a 4th generation Hasselblad camera system, the OnePlus 12 is anticipated to be a huge improvement over its predecessor.

Its 6.82′′ 2K AMOLED panel and 4,500 nits of peak brightness allow it to be operated with damp hands. With its own Display P1 chip, the phone uses less power to generate the brightest, clearest images imaginable.

Furthermore, the screen is one of the main draws for the 12 and I don’t want to minimize its significance. This panel performs well overall even though it isn’t as dazzling as the specs suggest. Because people want huge phones, its size is increasingly important. Despite being an exception, I understand my place in the world. For this much money, there won’t be another 6.8-inch screen with this level of quality of appearance.

One of the brightest 2K resolution AMOLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate is known to be a feature of the smartphone. Major software updates for the OnePlus 12 will be available for a full four years, as announced.

What isn’t a buzzword right now in the realm of mobile technology? battery life. What factors are most important to someone when they are buying a phone? battery life. Here, OnePlus has proven their commitment with some of the largest flagship phones’ best battery life I’ve tested in the previous six months.

The phone has a cryo-velocity cooling system with a 9140mm² VC heat dissipation area, made up of a 3,686mm² small VC and a 5,454mm² large VC. It will get security patches for five years and Android updates for four. On top of Android 14, it is powered by OxygenOS 14.

The OnePlus 12 was designed using hollow-curved, luxurious timepieces as inspiration. The camera module’s time scales, starry dial, and circular characters all serve as markers for the passage of time.

The OnePlus 12 has one of the fastest juice-up times of any flagship phone we’ve seen to yet, with 50W wireless charging. OnePlus claims to be the industry leader in charging technology.

While OnePlus has demonstrated the AI capabilities of the Snapdragon Gen 3 chipset, the firm has not mentioned any particular features that make use of it.

Even for titles that don’t support it, the OnePlus 12’s independent visual processor is said to increase framerate on most video games to a silky-smooth 120 frames per second.

I think every phone will have its own Dynamic Island in the not too distant future, and I’m all for that. This is one practical function that Apple has done well, and it’s a great way to rapidly check time-sensitive items while doing other things.

The company claims that the 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor in the 12’s main camera generates photos and movies that are comparable to those seen in movie theaters. The same sensor powers the OnePlus Open’s remarkably versatile camera system, and it looks like the 12 is heading in the same direction.

The price of the OnePlus 12 with 12GB+128GB will start at Rs 64,999.
