OH MY GIRL’s Mimi Is Finally Going Solo — Here’s Everything We Know

A decade in the making — OH MY GIRL’s Mimi is stepping into the spotlight on her own terms. Her agency just confirmed she’s preparing for her official solo debut, and fans couldn’t be more excited to see this new chapter unfold.

OH MY GIRL: The Big Announcement

On August 1, Mimi’s agency confirmed she’s gearing up to release her first solo single since debuting with OH MY GIRL back in 2015. The self-produced track drops later this month, marking a major personal milestone in her decade-long career.

What Makes This Release Special

Unlike a typical single rollout, Mimi took the creative reins herself — composing both the music and lyrics, infusing the track with her own distinct artistic identity. Her agency shared that this project reveals a new side of Mimi as an artist that fans haven’t seen before, encouraging supporters to show the single plenty of love.

Through this solo venture, Mimi aims to showcase her full range as an artist — spanning music, performance, and dance — stepping beyond her established identity within the group.

Catch Up With Mimi Before The Big Debut

While fans count down to August 20, Mimi has kept busy on the variety front, appearing on the baking competition show Bake Your Dream and the dating show Heart Pairing.

Solo ventures like this reflect a broader trend across the K-pop industry, where group members increasingly branch into individual releases to showcase personal artistry alongside their group work.
