OG 2 Just Got a Release Clue — Straight From the Music Director’s Mouth

Sometimes the biggest movie updates don’t come from a press release — they slip out during a fan chant. That’s exactly how “OG 2” fans got their latest confirmation.

Music composer Thaman S, currently busy promoting “Idhayam Murali,” found himself facing a crowd chanting “OG 2” during a promotional event. Rather than dodge the moment, he leaned in — confirming that Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited action entertainer will go on floors from September 2026.

It’s a small but significant update for fans who’ve been tracking every whisper about the sequel since “They Call Him OG” wrapped its theatrical run.

OG 2: What We Know So Far

Why Fans Are Buzzing

“They Call Him OG” wasn’t just another action film — it tapped into a larger renaissance moment for Telugu cinema, one of India’s most prolific film industries, known for its mass-appeal action dramas and pan-India ambitions. The original told the story of Ojas Gambheera, a feared Bombay underworld figure forced into hiding, before returning to settle old scores — a premise rich enough to justify a full-blown sequel.

With Emraan Hashmi’s antagonist arc and Pawan Kalyan’s screen presence driving the first film’s mixed-to-positive reception, expectations for “OG 2” are naturally sky-high. A September 2026 start also suggests the makers are prioritizing a well-planned production over a rushed follow-up — a good sign for quality-conscious fans.

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan continues to keep his slate packed, having recently wrapped “Ustaad Bhagat Singh,” proving his committment to back-to-back big-ticket releases.
