As per the Steam Hardware Survey of February, it seems that the Oculus Quest 2 has knocked off the Rift S from the top spot becoming the most popular VR headset right now.
Since the last month’s survey, it is showing a rigorous 5.52 percent uptick, the Oculus Quest 2 is now acquired the number one spot in the list, having 22.91 percent of the VR landscape. Maybe, it is not the most accurate portrayal of the gamer’s setups, but the Steam Hardware Survey brings a good idea for us that how much popularity this VR headset has shot up.
This headset was first released in October 2020, at that time Facebook noted that they were selling “beyond what we expected.” And the head of community at Rec Room Inc. Shawn Whiting said that the launch of Quest 2 was 250 percent more successful than the original Quest, in terms of the Rec Room players.
We have to say that, the Quest 2 has grabbed the top spot very quickly. It seems that the mandatory Facebook login hasn’t bothered many people. Although, it is been enough of a blight that researchers did bother to bypass what some regard as an ungodly blockade. This headset comes with an 1832 x 1920 resolution eye, 256GB of storage, 6GB of RAM, and a weight of only 503g.
An experimental 120Hz patch has been planned for the Oculus Quest 2 and it could receive in March. It’s another overhaul after we saw 90Hz support roll out in November 2020.
