Ninja Gaiden 4: Easy S-Rank Trick for All Missions

Struggling to achieve S-rank in Ninja Gaiden 4? There’s a game-changing trick that makes getting top scores significantly easier—even with imperfect runs.

The 1.2x Karma Multiplier Secret

Completing any mission without using items and without dying grants a 1.2x multiplier for your Karma score, allowing lower Technique, Kills, and Clear Time scores to still reach S-rank thresholds. This multiplier is the key to consistent S-ranks.

The Checkpoint Restart Strategy

When your health reaches Critical Condition (signaled by visual noise), open the menu and select “Restart from Checkpoint” before dying. This warps you back to the nearest Terminal or Muramasa statue with zero penalty—a classic PlatinumGames technique that works perfectly here.

How to Execute:

• Monitor health bar constantly during runs
• Watch for screen distortion effects
• Pause immediately when critical
• Select checkpoint restart before death
• Continue with no negative multiplier

This strategy transforms S-rank runs from requiring perfection to simply needing smart checkpoint management.

Understanding Karma Scoring

Your mission rank depends entirely on total Karma score, calculated from Technique Points, enemy kills, Clear Time, and multipliers. Dying even once reduces total Karma with a negative multiplier, making S-rank impossible, which is why the checkpoint trick is essential.

Note: While tested extensively on Normal and Hard difficulties, this trick should work on Master Ninja mode following the same principles used in other PlatinumGames titles.
