Neymar finally set to leave PSG this summer with board looking to cut their losses

Neymar could finally leave PSG this summer, with the board reportedly wanting him to exit. The Brazilian has a contract until 2027, but the club will now listen to offers for him.

Chelsea, Newcastle United and Manchester United are interested in the winger. But, no contact has been made to sign him as of yet. But, the club and the player are both in agreement that they are not going to continue together.

There are several factors that could be problems for potential suitors in case they want to sign Neymar. The first being his injury record, which has prevented him from participating in the Champions League at very important stages, over the past six years. The injuries have also hindered his progress and prevented him from hitting the heights expected from him.

In addition, his massive €50 million per year salary is also something that other clubs will not be able to afford. Meaning he will have to agree to a lower salary if he is to leave PSG this summer.

His fitness, in addition to his injuries and age, could make him a risky investment for any club. But, when he is fit, he is undoubtedly effective and can deliver. But in the Premier League, which is extremely physical and competitive, it could prove to be a big deterrent.

Neymar’s departure alongside Lionel Messi this summer could bring forth a new era for PSG in their quest to win the Champions League. It will be interesting to see how Luis Campos handles both their exits and reshapes the attack of the club.
