Fresh off a chaotic no-smoking campaign, the soldiers of “New Recruit 4: Sabotage” are heading straight into their toughest assignment yet — flood recovery duty. New stills released ahead of the latest episode show Kim Min Ho and his fellow 2nd Company members trading barracks life for backbreaking, mud-soaked labor, and fans are already buzzing about what disaster (literal and otherwise) might unfold next.

Based on the hit animation of the same name, New Recruit continues its signature blend of black comedy and raw honesty about South Korea’s mandatory military culture, following the everyday absurdities faced by young men in their 20s serving their country.

New Recruit 4: Sabotage- From Promotion Struggles to Physical Labor

Season 4 picks up in the second half of Park Min Seok’s (Kim Min Ho) military journey, following his promotion to corporal. Just as things seemed to be settling, a mysterious new recruit and a fresh battalion commander threw the unit into a new wave of turmoil.

In the previous episode, 2nd Company found itself in hot water as the army’s chosen model unit for a no-smoking campaign, leading to a hilariously desperate quit-smoking arc. Now, the stakes shift from personal discipline to sheer physical endurance.

Mud, Muscle, and Mayhem at the Disaster Site

The newly unveiled photos show 2nd Company deployed to a flood recovery site in full combat uniform, clearing fallen logs and hauling large rocks. The images capture just how grueling the assignment is, with soldiers visibly caked in mud from head to toe.

Adding weight to the mission, battalion commander Byun Hyuk Jin (Lee Hyun Kyun) is shown joining the troops on-site — a notable appearance that hints at rising tension. Another still captures the exhausted unit slumped along the road after their labor, fueling speculation about what incident is brewing at the recovery site.

Meanwhile, Oh Seok Jin (Lee Sang Jin) is set up for yet another comedic ordeal, spotted struggling with an unidentified object while dressed in a floral work outfit instead of his uniform — leaving fans curious about the mysterious “special operation” behind his unusual attire.

A New Crisis Brews for Shinhwa Unit

The production team has teased that Episode 4 won’t just focus on flood recovery — an incident is set to throw the entire Shinhwa Unit into chaos at the same time. Viewers can expect Park Min Seok’s ongoing struggles to deepen, alongside a pivotal crossroads moment for Jo Baek Ho (Oh Dae Hwan).
