Just when Park Min Seok thought military life would calm down after his promotion, chaos finds him again. “New Recruit 4: Sabotage” has dropped its first stills, and the beloved Barracks 1 crew looks ready to pull off their most chaotic covert mission yet.

What’s New Recruit About?

Based on the hit animation of the same name, “New Recruit” is a black comedy drama that pulls back the curtain on the culture, secrets, and everyday absurdities of South Korea’s military life. Season 4 picks up with Corporal Park Min Seok (Kim Min Ho) navigating a fresh set of dilemmas — including a mysterious new recruit and a brand-new battalion commander shaking things up.

Who’s In the New Stills

Character	Actor	What’s Happening
Park Min Seok	Kim Min Ho	Looks close to tears, desperately pleading for help
Kim Sang Hoon	Lee Choong Gu	Signals the group to keep quiet
Im Da Hye	Jeon Seung Hun	Also hushing the panicking Park Min Seok
Moon Bit Na Ri	Kim Yo Han	Watches on with a clueless expression
Kim Hyun Wook (new recruit)	Lee Won Jung	Stands guard, sharp-eyed, aiding the secret mission

Why Fans Are Excited

The stills capture Barracks 1 mid-scheme, hinting at yet another mishap the gang has stumbled into. What makes this season different is the arrival of ace new recruit Kim Hyun Wook, whose calm, watchful energy contrasts sharply with the group’s usual chaos. The production team teased “witty back-and-forth and hilarious chemistry” as this new dynamic settles in — a promising sign for fans who love the show’s blend of humor and camaraderie.

“New Recruit 4: Sabotage” premieres August 24 at 10 p.m. KST.
