The official logline says it all: “A savant salesman. A gentle gladiator. A quiet virtuoso. A summoner of the divine. And the poor soul who hired them.” Think your regular retail job — but make it supernatural.

Who’s Behind It?

The series is created by Joe Bennett and Ted Travelstead — who both previously worked on the animated sci-fi series Scavengers Reign, which originally aired on HBO Max before moving to Netflix. Bennett later found success with the Adult Swim series Common Side Effects, which has already been confirmed for another season.

Where Does It Fit in Netflix’s Animation Slate?

Netflix has been quietly building one of the strongest adult animation libraries in streaming. Already in 2026, Netflix picked up Dang! starring Andrew Law, Stephanie Hsu, and Poppy Liu, plus the Australian animated series Dad’s House. The streamer’s current adult animation catalog includes Mating Season, Alley Cats, Haunted Hotel, and Long Story Short from BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg.

Dealies slots right into this growing universe of smart, boundary-pushing animation.
