What’s the Story This Season?
Season 2 follows Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi (Barun Sobti) at a new police station with a new commanding officer—the no-nonsense Inspector Dhanwant Kaur, played by Mona Singh in her first-ever action role. The central mystery revolves around a brutally murdered woman found in her brother’s home, but as the investigation unfolds, both detectives realize their personal entanglements are just as complicated as the case itself.
The creators promise “more layered and emotionally complex territory,” exploring fractured relationships and buried truths that define rural Punjab’s social fabric.
Meet the Cast
Barun Sobti (Asur) reprises his award-winning role as ASI Garundi, while Mona Singh (Kaala Paani) brings intensity to her breakthrough action character. The supporting cast includes Rannvijay Singha (Mismatched), Pooja Bhamrrah (The Fame Game), Anuraag Arora (Amar Singh Chamkila), and Prayrak Mehta (Black Warrant).
Why Kohrra Stands Out
Unlike typical crime procedurals, Kohrra delves into systemic issues—patriarchy, caste dynamics, and rural-urban divides—while maintaining gripping suspense. The series’ authentic Punjabi dialogue and atmospheric cinematography create an immersive experience that earned comparisons to prestige American crime dramas.
Produced by A Film Squad Productions and Act Three, with direction from Sonchiriya scribe Sudip Sharma and Faisal Rahman, Season 2 expands the world-building while maintaining the gritty realism that defined the original.
