The Big Ones — Shows You Should Watch First
Devil May Cry (Season 2) drops May 12 and this time, Vergil — Dante’s brooding twin — takes the spotlight as he leads a demon army into the human world. If Season 1 impressed you, Season 2 looks even more intense.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 finally lands on May 1. This season covers the legendary Shibuya Incident arc — widely considered the best storyline in the series. Sorcerers, curses, and an assault on a train station make for edge-of-your-seat viewing.
Assassination Classroom Season 1 is a brilliant newcomer to Netflix’s library. Class 3-E’s delinquent students are tasked by the government to kill their tentacled teacher, Koro-sensei, before he destroys the planet. It’s funny, emotional, and surprisingly deep. If you haven’t seen it yet, start here.
One Piece: Whole Cake Island (Part 4) continues Luffy’s wild adventure through Big Mom’s territory, while the Elbaf Arc keeps rolling out weekly — this is One Piece at its grandest scale yet. For more on the latest One Piece anime news, check out our detailed coverage at TechnoSports.
For the Gamers & Dreamers
Shangri-La Frontier is a love letter to gamers. High schooler Rakurou intentionally seeks out broken, glitchy games — but when he enters Shangri-La Frontier, a polished VR masterpiece, his unconventional playstyle starts turning heads. It’s quirky, fast-paced, and easy to binge.
Romance & Drama Corner
My Dress Up Darling Season 2 (May 25) picks up where the slow-burn romance left off. Marin can’t hide her feelings for Gojou much longer, and their cosplay partnership grows more personal than ever. It’s wholesome, funny, and genuinely sweet.
Akane-Banashi (May 17, weekly) is the wild card of the month — a drama about a girl mastering rakugo, a traditional Japanese solo storytelling art form, to avenge her expelled father. It’s niche, beautiful, and deeply human
Action-Packed Picks
Blue Lock Season 2 follows Isagi Yoichi battling for a spot in Japan’s U-20 squad. The animation dip from Season 1 is real, but the story remains gripping. Kill Blue keeps delivering weekly laughs as a 39-year-old legendary hitman, transformed into a 13-year-old by a mysterious wasp, tries to survive middle school. Dorohedoro wraps its gritty, chaotic Season 2 on May 27 — Hole’s brutal world hasn’t gotten any safer.
Mushoku Tensei Season 2 (May 25, excluding USA) follows Rudeus Greyrat as he picks himself up after heartbreak and a near-death experience. This season digs into growth, grief, and second chances.
