Top 3 Highlights of the Week

1. Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 — Thursday, April 23

If you’ve been suffering from a serious Demogorgon-shaped hole in your life, this one’s the remedy. Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is a brand-new animated anthology series that transports fans back to the neon-soaked summer of 1985 — set right before the events of Season 3. Think Saturday morning cartoon energy fused with Hawkins-style sci-fi horror. It’s nostalgia-driven, it’s fresh, and it’s arriving just in time to fill your Thursday night. Fans of the original series will absolutely want to clear their schedule for this one.

2. Bugonia (2025) — Sunday, April 26

Here’s where the week gets genuinely special. Bugonia is the latest film from Greek auteur Yorgos Lanthimos (Poor Things, The Favourite) — and it stars his go-to duo Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons. This Oscar-nominated dark sci-fi comedy is an English-language remake of the 2003 South Korean cult classic Save the Green Planet! The premise alone is wild: two conspiracy obsessives kidnap a powerful CEO, convinced she’s an alien sent to destroy Earth. It’s bizarre, darkly funny, and exactly the kind of film that makes for a perfect Sunday watch. This is arriving on Netflix via the Pay-1 output deal with Universal Pictures — so it’s a genuine big-screen title coming straight to your living room.

3. Running Point Season 2 — Thursday, April 23

Mindy Kaling’s hit sports comedy is back, and Kate Hudson returns as Isla Gordon — the charismatic, unpredictable president of the fictional LA Waves basketball franchise. Season 2 picks up with the pressure cranked all the way up: a city expecting a championship, a skeptical family, and a front office still adjusting to Isla’s style. If Season 1 was your guilty pleasure binge of 2025, Season 2 is shaping up to be even better.
