Nani’s The Paradise Gets ‘A’ Certificate: CBFC Cuts Bloodshed, Torture Scenes Ahead of Sept 24 Release

Nani’s much-anticipated The Paradise has cleared its final censor hurdle, receiving an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification on September 21, 2026, just days ahead of its September 24 theatrical release. The board’s decision came after the makers agreed to a lengthy list of cuts and audio modifications spanning violence, language and politically sensitive references.

Director Srikanth Odela, reuniting with Nani after their earlier collaboration on Dasara, has described the film’s tone as intense, with the makers stating that “while the emotion of the film is for everyone… [its] rawness is strictly for the adults” — a line that now reads as a fairly accurate preview of what the CBFC ultimately flagged.

Key CBFC Modifications

Beyond the censor cuts, the CBFC also required changes to a pregnant woman scene in the film’s opening and muted a reference to a real-life assassination and historical event. With all modifications approved, the film’s final certified runtime now stands at 173 minutes and 4 seconds.

The Paradise stars Nani alongside Kayadu Lohar, veteran actor Mohan Babu, Raghav Juyal and Sampoornesh Babu, and is produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under the SLV Cinemas banner. In an unusual marketing move, Nani has confirmed that no trailer will be released before the film hits theatres, with only a teaser and songs like “Aaya Sher” and “Yeshanagula” out so far to build anticipation.

With the censor board process now behind it, all attention turns to the box office, where The Paradise will look to add to Nani’s recent run of commercially and critically strong outings.

Nani’s decision to skip a traditional trailer rollout is a notable departure for a film of this scale, betting instead on curiosity and word-of-mouth built purely through its music and a single teaser. Combined with the extensive censor cuts now public knowledge, the film heads into release with an unusually high level of pre-release intrigue for a mainstream Telugu-Hindi crossover title.

Advance bookings are expected to open later this week, and industry trackers will be watching closely to see whether the ‘A’ rating dents footfalls in family-heavy multiplex circuits or whether the film’s intensity becomes part of its appeal for genre audiences.
