“Please Get Rid of My Wife” — Namkoong Min’s New KBS Thriller The Husband Just Dropped a Teaser That Changes Everything

Just when you thought you’d seen every flavor of Korean romance thriller, KBS comes along and flips the script entirely. The newly released teaser for The Husband starring Namkoong Min and Lee Seol is doing exactly what a good teaser should — raising more questions than it answers, and leaving viewers desperately wanting more. Mark your calendars: this one premieres July 4, 2026.

The Husband : Drama Overview

What Is The Husband About?

At its core, The Husband is a romance thriller built around one of the most deliciously twisted premises in recent K-drama memory. Kang Tae Joo (Namkoong Min), a neurosurgeon, is on the verge of divorcing his wife Go Se Yoon (Lee Seol) — when she is suddenly kidnapped. Now the man who wanted out of the marriage is forced into a desperate, dangerous fight against a ruthless criminal to save the woman he was about to leave.

The irony is sharp. The stakes are real. And the emotional complexity promises to be layered in ways that go far beyond a typical cat-and-mouse thriller.

What the Teaser Reveals — And What It Doesn’t

The newly released teaser is a masterclass in tension-building. Here’s what we know from it:

Kang Tae Joo is shown mid-surgery — composed, clinical, in control. That image quickly unravels. His wife Se Yoon is seen in tears screaming, “This is all because of you,” while Tae Joo himself flatly tells her they should break up. Then comes the gut-punch scene: Tae Joo sitting in a police interrogation room, visibly stunned, as an officer asks him, “Did you contract someone you met for the first time yesterday to murder your wife?”

A white car is pushed into a lake. A banquet hall confrontation. A drunk Tae Joo in the backseat of a car — telling the designated driver, “Please get rid of my wife.”

That last line alone has the internet talking. Is it a dark joke? A drunken rant? Or something more sinister? The teaser refuses to tell you, and that’s precisely why it works.

Why Namkoong Min and Lee Seol Are the Perfect Pair?

Namkoong Min is no stranger to morally complex, high-pressure roles — he’s built a reputation for inhabiting characters who operate in emotional grey zones, and Kang Tae Joo looks tailor-made for him. Lee Seol, meanwhile, brings a quiet intensity that makes Go Se Yoon’s declaration — “I am not getting a divorce. I don’t want to do anything he wants” — land with real weight.

Their dynamic already crackles in just a few teaser frames. A couple on the edge of ending things, suddenly thrown into a life-or-death crisis together — it’s the kind of push-pull tension that makes K-drama romance thrillers so deeply watchable.
